Chapter 2: THE OLD ONE

The voice jolted the kids back to reality and they looked around to see who had spoken. They were alone, no one was near them!
“Get your cocoa and sit down, that’s what you came for isn’t it?” the voice asked.
Although she spoke not a word, Amy felt herself saying, “who are you and where are you?”
Something awoke in the kids they did not know existed. They now have the ability to communicate through their Inuas, the spiritual occupant or spirit helpers that reside in all living and inanimate things.
“I am Kadluk, the one they call THE OLD ONE, and you have been waiting for me to come, haven’t you?” asked the voice.
The kids realized the voice was coming from THE OLD ONE who occupied THE CHAIR.
“How did you know we were waiting for you to come? Mr. Munro told us that you don’t speak English, so how is it that you are talking to my brothers and me? How can we be communicating when we don’t speak the same language?” Amy asked.
“Sila told me there were some young Kabloonas at the mine who showed interest in the old ways. I am conversing with you through our Inuas,” said Kadluk.
